About IB Enlgish

IB English is not about “language skills” in the narrow sense, but about cultivating the ability to think and argue critically in English.

For example, the structure of the IB English Language & Literature Final Papers is as follows:

  • Paper 1 – Analysis of one non-literary text (SL)

  •                  – Comparative analysis of two non-literary texts (HL)

  • Paper 2 – Comparative argumentative essay: choose two literary works and respond to a given prompt through comparison and contrast

Therefore, our classes are designed to build this capacity through evidence-based, structured analysis of both literary and non-literary texts, with a strong emphasis on organized, academic writing.

About IB Math

IB Math is not merely about memorizing formulas and skillfully solving problems; it is a curriculum designed to develop logical reasoning and problem-solving skills grounded in inductive and deductive thinking.

For example:

  • Sample IB Math Criterion A Task: Pattern Investigation

         Paper Questions )

Consider a sequence of polygons where the number of vertices increases as follows: triangle (3 vertices),                 quadrilateral (4 vertices), pentagon (5 vertices), and so on.

Draw the first 4 polygons (triangle, quadrilateral, pentagon, hexagon).

             1. For each polygon, determine how many diagonals can be drawn

(a diagonal is a line connecting two non-adjacent vertices).

             2. Record your results in a table.

             3. Look for a pattern in the number of diagonals as the number of vertices increases.

             4. Derive a general formula for the number of diagonals in an n-sided polygon.

             5. Justify your formula by mathematical reasoning.

Therefore, our classes focus on building these skills by:

  • Developing a precise understanding of underlying concepts

  • Performing direct proofs

  • Cultivating argumentation-based, logical thinking
